About The Position

The Accounting Manager will support and help drive the modernization and scaling of the accounting function. This role goes beyond traditional accounting oversight and will actively assess and improve the department across people, process, and technology. The ideal candidate brings a continuous improvement mindset, strong technical accounting expertise, and the ability to lead change in a dynamic environment. This position is expected to evolve over time, with responsibilities shifting as transformation initiatives progress and organizational needs change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a leadership or manager role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • Advanced Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting automation tools

Nice To Haves

  • CPA a plus
  • Experience in a Big Four public accounting firm, consulting firm, or corporate finance & accounting function preferred
  • Prior experience in process improvement, transformation, or system implementation
  • Experience in a Professional Services industry a plus
  • proficiency with NetSuite a plus
  • knowledge of OneStream a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assess current accounting workflows, controls, and systems to identify inefficiencies and risks; Lead initiatives to streamline processes and reduce manual effort; Design and implement scalable processes to support business growth
  • Evaluate team structure, roles, and skillsets to ensure alignment with future-state needs; Coach and develop team members; Identify training and upskilling opportunities; Foster a culture of accountability, adaptability, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with IT and leadership to implement or optimize ERP and related systems; Drive automation initiatives (e.g., reconciliations, reporting, AP/AR workflows)
  • Support business initiatives by providing accounting guidance and operational insight; Act as a change agent, influencing stakeholders and gaining buy-in for improvements
  • Support the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and the year-end audit
  • Take on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve, including potential expansion into broader finance or operational leadership areas
