About The Position

GTI is seeking an Accounting Manager to support and strengthen day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-growing manufacturing environment. This role will help manage core accounting functions, support close and reporting activities, improve processes, and provide hands-on accounting support across multiple entities and sites. This is a strong fit for someone who has solid accounting fundamentals, enjoys process improvement, and is ready to help build structure within a growing accounting team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, project-based, construction, or job-costing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles.
  • Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations.
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative work style.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred, ideally Big 4, national, or large regional firm.
  • Prior supervisory, team lead, or staff mentoring experience.
  • Experience with job costing, project accounting, or manufacturing accounting.
  • Exposure to inventory, fixed assets, cost accounting, or margin analysis.
  • Multi-entity or multi-state accounting experience.
  • NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP/accounting system experience.
  • Experience improving accounting processes, controls, close procedures, or reporting workflows.
  • Interest in growing into a senior accounting leadership role as the company scales.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage portions of the monthly close process.
  • Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
  • Support AP, AR, general ledger, fixed assets, and cash/account reconciliation processes.
  • Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Assist with job costing, project accounting, inventory, and manufacturing cost tracking.
  • Partner with operations and finance to ensure accurate project, inventory, and cost reporting.
  • Help improve visibility into project profitability, margins, and cost trends.
  • Support multi-entity and multi-site accounting needs.
  • Help improve accounting processes, documentation, workflows, and controls.
  • Support audit, tax, compliance, and year-end reporting requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency within the accounting function.
  • Assist with ERP/accounting system improvements as needed.
  • Help mentor or oversee accounting staff as the team grows.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, purchasing, and leadership.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
