THE OPPORTUNITY Silvus is seeking an Accounting Manager who will report to the Senior Accounting Manager on the Finance team. The successful individual in this role will steer the daily operations of the Accounting team, ensuring integrity of the financial reporting. This position is based at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles, CA, and is on a hybrid schedule. A minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected. On-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Resourceful; can devise creative solutions to problems.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Current CPA license.
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Previous experience with Oracle.
  • Experience at a publicly traded company or in external audit.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting analysts, ensuring the accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial information.
  • Manage month, quarter and year-end close processes ensuring all financial records, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations are accurate, SOX compliant and performed timely.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
  • Work to simplify and automate processes.
  • Analyzing General Ledger activity to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Motorola Solutions policies.
  • Own GL related SOX efforts.
  • Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
