About The Position

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for utilizing their strong accounting knowledge and exercising sound judgment to optimize financial operations and improve how we work, rather than simply maintaining the status quo. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate accounting, financial management, and regulatory reporting, and will manage multiple priorities to ensure financial data is processed timely, accurately, and efficiently. This is a high-impact role tailored for someone eager to expand their scope and grow into accounting leadership as the business scales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 6+ years of experience as an accountant or in an accounting related function required.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing a team required.
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting software, NetSuite highly preferred.
  • Desire and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel required
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters’ degree or CPA is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations including functional responsibility over bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Own the month-end and year-end close process, including review of account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals, driving continuous improvement in close timeliness and accuracy.
  • Support multi-entity and multi-division accounting across TGC's business units and subsidiaries.
  • Continually improve and optimize systems and procedures. Initiate corrective action plan or update SOPs as needed.
  • Support NetSuite process improvement and automation initiatives in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop team members by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training and feedback, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to present to senior leaders and owners of the Company.
  • Support external audit and tax preparation coordination, and assist with regulatory and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain professional and timely communication with vendors, customers, and internal team members.
  • Collaborate and build effective relationships with other departments.
  • Perform other responsibilities and projects as needed.
