About The Position
Parkway Properties owns and operates a growing portfolio of express car washes throughout Alabama. We currently operate 15 locations and continue to expand through acquisitions, real estate investments, and strategic growth initiatives. We are seeking an Accounting Manager to help build and strengthen our accounting and finance function. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the CFO and gain exposure well beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, including acquisitions, debt financing, lender reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Experience preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
Nice To Haves
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Multi-entity accounting experience
- QuickBooks Online experience
- Experience with lender reporting, debt schedules, or covenant compliance
- Experience supervising or mentoring team members
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the monthly close process
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Review account reconciliations and journal entries
- Maintain fixed asset, depreciation, and debt schedules
- Prepare accruals and other month-end adjustments
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors
- Prepare lender reporting packages and covenant calculations
- Support financing, refinancing, and banking initiatives
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and forecasting
- Supervise and mentor one Accounting Specialist
- Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures
- Develop scalable systems to support future growth
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy across the accounting function
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Support acquisition due diligence and integration activities
- Participate in special projects and financial analysis
- Work directly with the CFO on strategic initiatives
