Job Summary: The Revenue Accounting Manager will oversee the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies. This role involves a particular emphasis in SSP analyses & reallocations under Step 4 while managing the overall monthly and quarterly close processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical expertise on revenue-related matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a revenue accounting role within a publicly traded company.
  • Heavy experience with SSP analyses and reallocations under Step 4 of ASC 606 is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly Step 4 of ASC 606, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), revenue automation software (e.g., Zuora Revenue) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Adapt to changing responsibilities and effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly driven and self-motivated.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is a plus.
  • Experience with both software and hardware revenue recognition.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in compliance with the five-step ASC 606 model (particularly Step 4) and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage the monthly and quarterly close processes for revenue-related activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement disclosures.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls over the order-to-cash cycle, ensuring data accuracy and completeness as required by Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Work closely with Sales, FP&A, Legal, and IT teams to provide guidance on complex revenue transactions and contract negotiations.
  • Prepare and present revenue reports and analyses to senior management and external auditors.
  • Develop and update revenue recognition policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with current business practices and accounting standards.
  • Support various Controllership projects, including mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, and process improvements.
  • Drive process and system improvements and oversee professional development of team members.
