About The Position

The Accounting Lead performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements. You will conduct and assist in the documentation of accounting projects. You will work on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. The Accounting Lead prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
• 5+ years with general accounting/monthly close process
• 2 or more years of leadership experience
• Experience presenting to upper management
• Excel proficiency

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in business administration
• Prior experience within the healthcare industry
• Certified Public Accountant license
• Familiarity with Healthcare income statements and MLR (medical loss ratios)
• SQL and Essbase
• Healthcare claims reserving and development

Responsibilities

• Provide financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget.
• Advise executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.
• Review and prepare financial data, transactions and reports, including ad-hoc data requests for executive leadership
• Partner with other areas across the organization to ensure accurate reporting of our financials
• Review monthly close and approved journal entries
• Develop methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing financial data and preparing complex analyses
• Analyze payer agnostic medical data for trends and financial impact
• Present markets with monthly financial performance and trend insights
