About The Position

Peterson Cat has an immediate need for an experienced Accounting Inventory Clerk based at our San Leandro, CA location. This role involves performing clerical accounting functions where some judgment and independent action are required, primarily under the guidance of general accounting personnel. Requirements

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school
Six months to one year related experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

Prepare vendor Accounts Payable, primarily for inventory-related costs.
Match approved purchase orders with vendor billings/invoices; prepare data for processing payment.
Compile and post transactions, to both the Transaction Register and into the A/P System, to designated accounts.
Maintain Accounting filing systems (hard copy and soft copy) as needed.
Place and respond to internal and external phone calls; process correspondence as required.
Perform related duties and functions as required by the general accountants of three separate companies.
Identify and Reconcile Vendor Account Discrepancies.
Maintain/update procedures for assigned accounting function.
Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Display excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
Respectfully take direction from supervisor/manager.
