About The Position

BGM is seeking motivated, curious, and service-minded accounting students for its Summer 2028 Internship Program in Des Moines, Iowa. The internship runs from May through August 2028, with approximately 30 hours per week and a flexible schedule. Interns gain hands-on experience with real client work, exposure to audit and tax, and opportunities to work with professionals at different levels of the Firm. They receive coaching, feedback, and training to develop technical skills and understanding of public accounting. Based on performance, career goals, and business needs, successful interns may be considered for future internships or full-time opportunities. The role requires working from BGM’s Des Moines office and permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• Interested in gaining experience in public accounting.
• Available to work approximately 20–30 hours per week during the internship.
• Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
• Service-minded with strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Curious, dependable, and willing to learn.
• Able to work from the Des Moines office during the internship.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance engagements.
• Support tax return preparation and other tax-related projects.
• Collect and analyze client information and financial data.
• Assist engagement teams with identifying issues and communicating findings.
• Complete tax research and special projects as needed.
• Gain exposure to clients across a variety of industries.
• Work alongside team members at different levels of the Firm.
• Build accounting and industry knowledge through hands-on experience, coaching, training, and collaboration.
