About The Position

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking an Accounting Intern for summer 2027 to learn, grow, and contribute to Accounting and Finance teams across the company. The internship provides hands-on accounting experience in the manufacturing sector, particularly the steel industry. Interns participate in ongoing divisional assignments, including exposure to month-end close procedures and financial reporting, and collaborate with interns from other divisions on group projects intended to create value across the organization. They may also shadow experienced team members to learn how their work supports Nucor’s operations and profitability. The program aims to provide a learning experience aligned with interns’ career goals. Nucor seeks accounting students with an entrepreneurial mindset, strong ownership, and an interest in leading beyond the accounting department. Safety is paramount; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. Internships are hosted at Nucor divisions across the United States. Location preferences are considered, but placement depends on divisional needs.

Requirements

Be working toward a four-year bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with an expected graduation date no later than May 2028.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Provide reliable transportation for the duration of the internship.
Demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

Participate in divisional assignments, including hands-on exposure to month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
Collaborate with interns from other divisions on group projects to help drive value across the organization.
