About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support our construction finance team. This role is designed for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in accounting operations, including accounts payable, expense tracking, vendor management, and general finance administration. The Accounting Intern will work closely with the accounting team to support day-to-day functions and learn core accounting processes in a professional environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, coursework, or part-time experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred but not required.
  • Exposure to accounting software (e.g., Sage, HH2, or similar) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice entry, payment posting, and expense tracking.
  • Support processing of employee expense reports and corporate credit card transactions.
  • Help maintain accurate financial records, spreadsheets, and documentation.
  • Assist with vendor communications and respond to basic inquiries regarding billing and payment status.
  • Support bank and account reconciliations under supervision.
  • Help organize and maintain electronic and physical filing systems for financial documents.
  • Assist the accounting team with monthly closing activities and reporting tasks.
  • Support audit preparation by gathering and organizing requested documentation.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning, and document organization.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
