Accounting Intern
About The Position
Garney Construction is seeking 2027 Summer Accounting Interns to support its accounting team. The internship gives a currently enrolled college student the opportunity to learn accounting from a construction-company perspective, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and procedures. Interns gain hands-on experience applying classroom knowledge and developing professional skills. This is a full-time, paid internship based at Garney’s Kansas City, Missouri office for a three-month period during the summer. The position is available for class credit and pays $22 per hour for 40 hours per week, paid weekly by direct deposit.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Basic understanding of accounting.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn from industry professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Accounts Receivable pay application entry.
- Complete job audits.
- Assist with other accounting functions.
- Support month-end closing activities.
- Prepare journal entries.
