About The Position

The Storyteller Overland company began in 2017 from a drawing on a napkin, driven by a desire to help people live more adventurous lives. Officially launched in 2018 with a team of seven, the company focused on launching its MODE 4x4 and establishing dealer partnerships. Since then, Storyteller Overland has experienced significant growth, adding sister companies, expanding its team, and building a large community of adventurers. As an Accounts Payable Intern, the role involves assisting Storyteller’s finance team with daily operations, specifically focusing on accounts payable, general accounting, and bookkeeping tasks. The intern is also expected to be an exceptional team player and a superior brand ambassador within the community of vanlifers, adventure seekers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process accounts payable transactions by reviewing, coding, and organizing invoices and supporting documentation
  • Execute timely and accurate payments by verifying transaction details, scheduling disbursements, and securing proper approvals
  • Reconcile open purchase orders and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and improve the purchase-to-pay cycle
  • Analyze accounts payable data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Maintain accurate financial records by posting transactions to accounting systems and ensuring proper documentation
  • Reconcile vendor statements and internal accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders; process adjustments, stop payments, or reissues as needed
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards to safeguard financial integrity
  • Support data integrity and system reliability through proper documentation, record retention, and backup procedures
  • Maintain organized and auditable records of all accounts payable documentation in accordance with company policies
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, communication, and overall financial operations
  • Contribute to a high-performance team culture through collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Perform additional duties and support special projects as assigned
