About The Position

The Accounting Intern will gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting while supporting accurate and timely financial reporting. The role contributes to general ledger accounting, financial analysis, and internal reporting, and uses technology, automation, and AI to improve accounting processes and efficiency. The intern manages assigned accounting responsibilities with appropriate independence while collaborating with the Corporate Accounting team.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate Accounting program and completed at least one foundational accounting course.
• GPA of 3.3 or higher.
• Available to work 15–20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and basic financial modeling.
• Ability to analyze financial information, investigate discrepancies, and apply sound judgment to accounting and business questions.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Ability to learn and apply new accounting processes, technologies, and tools as business needs evolve.
• Ability to use technology, including AI-enabled tools, responsibly to improve productivity, analysis, and accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for accurate general ledger accounting and month-end reporting.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for Finance and business leaders.
• Analyze actual-to-budget results and communicate key variances.
• Improve recurring accounting and reporting processes using AI, automation, and technology.
• Support financial planning and analysis through accurate financial data, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
• Maintain customer sales tax exemption information and supporting records.
• Manage assigned accounting responsibilities while collaborating with the Corporate Accounting team.
