About The Position

The Accounting Intern provides entry-level support to the Property Accounting and Operations Accounting teams. Responsibilities include assisting with asset creation support activities, basic account reconciliation research, and preparation of supporting schedules. This position is designed to provide practical accounting experience while performing clearly defined tasks under direct supervision.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize and document work clearly
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work effectively under supervision
  • Professional, dependable, and willing to learn

Responsibilities

  • Assist with asset creation support by compiling and organizing documentation required for asset setup
  • Support project-to-asset activities through verification of project cost summaries and supporting schedules
  • Maintain fixed asset documentation, including file organization and data validation
  • Perform basic research related to asset records and capitalization support
  • Assist with account reconciliation research by pulling transaction detail and support from SAP and Excel
  • Document reconciling items and research findings for review by Operations Accounting staff
  • Support month-end close activities through preparation of basic Excel schedules and tie-out support
  • Perform account activity and variance research as assigned
  • Prepare and maintain Excel workbooks used by the accounting teams
  • Follow documented accounting procedures and internal controls
  • Respond to information requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with special projects and general accounting support as needed
