About The Position

This role is responsible for various accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and efficient operations within the hotel. The Accounting Generalist will handle accounts receivable, guest inquiries, revenue capture, contract review, and coordination with other finance functions. The position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments, including the Credit team.

Responsibilities

• Print, prepare and mail statements for outstanding C/L accounts at least twice per week.
• Answer guest and credit card inquiries concerning accounts including the documentation and preparation of adjustments if necessary on a timely basis.
• Prepare and maintain complete, accurate and organized records for all outstanding accounts as directed by the Accounting Manager.
• Assist in verifying that Rooms, Food and Beverage, Banquet, and miscellaneous revenues are accurately captured, recorded and posted.
• Review group and catering contracts, establish understanding of billing arrangements and follow up on deposits and prepayments.
• Coordinate the flow of supporting documentation among Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Payroll and other Finance functions.
• Assist the Credit team in the performance of his/her other duties as requested including obtaining credit references, collection of outstanding accounts, and attending pre & post conference meetings with meeting planners.
• Review and reconcile 3rd party billing and gratuity to ensure that they are accurately captured and paid.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance or Accounting Manager.
• File documents and reports.
