About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to support our accounting and payroll functions. This is an office-based role in Schaumburg and is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, accuracy in data entry, and experience supporting accounting operations in a construction-related environment. Construction accounting experience is strongly preferred, and experience working with union contracts, certified payroll, and union audits is a plus.

Requirements

  • Previous accounting, payroll, or bookkeeping experience required
  • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Construction accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with union contracts, union payroll, or certified payroll a plus
  • Familiarity with AR, AP, payroll, lien waivers, and insurance certificates preferred
  • Experience with Monday.com and ComputerEase a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with payroll processing, including accurate data entry of employee hours
  • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
  • Prepare and assist with certified payroll reporting
  • Manage lien waivers and related project documentation
  • Conduct account follow-ups with customers, vendors, and internal team members
  • Assist with union audit preparation and documentation
  • Track and maintain certificates of insurance
  • Support accounting recordkeeping, filing, and general administrative tasks
  • Communicate professionally with employees, vendors, customers, and project teams
  • Assist with additional accounting duties as needed
