About The Position

Metglas, Inc., located in Conway, SC near Myrtle Beach is a world leading producer of Amorphous Metal Ribbon. Since our company began in the 1970’s, Metglas, Inc. (then Allied Signal located in Morristown, NJ) pioneered the development and production of amorphous metal, a unique alloy that exhibits a structure in which the metal atoms occur in a random pattern. The key to Metglas Inc.’s proprietary manufacturing process is the rapid-solidification of molten alloy at a rate of approximately one million degrees Celsius per second. We are currently hiring for a Full-Time Accounting Clerk to help in our Accounts Payable, Accounting, and other departments for our busy 24/7 metal manufacturing foundry.

Requirements

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT).
Strong orientation to working in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Experience scanning, saving, and organizing company files and records.
High School or equivalent preferred.
Associate's degree in accounting desired.
Previous clerical/administrative support to higher level employees and other departments.
This position requires compliance with ITAR and/or EAR requirements. As a potential candidate for this position, you must be a “U.S. Person” (as defined under 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 and 15 C.F.R. § 772.1). The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) are the primary export control regulations in the United States. The successful candidate will be required to show proof substantiating their status as a U.S. Person.

Responsibilities

Perform all activities required to prepare customer invoices for processing for payment.
Perform all activities related to follow-up and resolution of outstanding invoices for processing.
Provide assistances to vendors relating to payment of invoices.
Print supplier checks on a weekly basis.
Execute “special” check runs as requested.
Assist with monthly financial closing including journal entries in BaaN as requested including monthly accrual list.
Assist with physical inventories and audits as requested.
Review terms and conditions for all customer requests for quotation and PO’s which include FAR and DFAR requirements.
Enter wires as requested.
Support departmental goals to drive plant and business performance.
Print invoices for accounting.
Filing paperwork.
Scan and record all paperwork into system.
Run reports.
Keep spreadsheets up to date.
PO Requestions. Put in requisitions as needed.
Call vendors and customers. Set up meetings & appointments as/if needed.
Help in other departments as needed.
Perform various other duties as assigned.
