About The Position

The Accounting Clerk supports the financial operations of Penny Lane Centers by processing and maintaining accurate financial transactions, records, and documentation related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking, and general accounting activities. This position contributes to the organization's financial integrity by ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant fiscal processes that support agency programs and services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and dependable, with strong accounting and problem-solving skills. They demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to accuracy while effectively managing multiple priorities, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Accounting Certificate OR minimum two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using accounting software.
  • Ability to process financial transactions, maintain financial records, and perform account reconciliations.
  • Valid California driver’s license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance company; have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Experience supporting audits, billing, financial reporting, or nonprofit accounting operations.
