About The Position

LoanPro is a leading fintech company transforming the lending landscape with its next-generation SaaS platform. The Accounting Clerk, reporting to the Director of Finance, is responsible for recording journal entries, maintaining asset and liability schedules, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and processing tax filings. This role also supports month-end close, quarterly, and year-end reporting, prepares financial reports and analysis, and recommends process improvements and internal financial controls. The position requires exemplifying excellent service and adherence to company core values, culture, policy, and procedures.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience performing related accounting processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365/Google products, and ERP systems
  • Ability to read and speak clearly in English
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Reasonable knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to communicate professionally both written and verbal
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Fluency in the English language (speak, read, and write) required

Responsibilities

  • Preparing financial reports and analysis as requested by the Director of Finance

  • Deep learning about LoanPro's software, its functions, and how it fulfills customer needs
  • Understanding, complying with, and adhering to GAAP practices, standards, and applications
  • Assisting and supporting accurate and timely month-end close
  • Administering and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Performing daily bookkeeping and journal entries as needed
  • Responsible for collection management and professional, accurate, and timely follow-up with customers
  • Maintaining the general ledger
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of financial, employee, and other sensitive company information
  • Assisting with closing the books and management of AR/AP
  • Managing Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable processes including entering daily invoices/bills/journal entries/weekly check runs/monthly accruals and special projects
  • Evaluating workflow processes and procedures to develop, recommend, and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies
  • Helping the Director of Accounting, Director of Finance, and CFO with annual audits
  • Assisting in providing schedules and commentary with respect to operating maintenance accounts results and variances, and with the production of working capital, cash-flow reports, as well as applicable commentary
  • Preparing special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Creating and analyzing liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation
  • Summarizing and preparing financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports
  • Complying with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpreting new and existing legislation
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts and maintaining schedules detailing month-end balances at quarter-end and year-end
  • Adhering to accounting and finance “best practices” and all LoanPro policies and procedures
  • Preparing monthly accruals
  • Meeting internal and external deadlines for all responsibilities
  • Performing timely monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Exemplifying excellent attention to detail, customer service, and communication skills and demonstrating ability to work well under pressure for extended periods of time
  • Monitoring credit card accounts to ensure expenses are for business purposes and that receipts are uploaded/posted
  • Maintaining the fixed asset ledger and responsible for monthly depreciation entries
  • Reviewing expenses monthly to ensure expenses are recorded accurately and that no fixed assets were accidentally expensed
  • Assisting with annual audits providing schedules/roll forwards as required
  • Inputting accounts payable and ensuring payments are on-time
  • Assisting with preparation of company payroll for international and domestic employees
  • Administering the reconciliation of employee monthly benefit bills to employee headcount
  • Assisting in maintaining the company master Census
  • Giving, receiving, and implementing feedback and constructive criticism
