The Cradle of Liberty Council, headquartered in King of Prussia, administers Scouting in Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware Counties in Pennsylvania and serves more than 11,000 youth annually. The council is actively seeking a self-motivated, organized, high-energy individual for a part-time (20 hours/week), in-person Accounting Clerk position.

Responsibilities

  • Check and verify cost accounting, accounts payable or payroll records for the shared service councils.
  • Prepare invoices and vouchers, type, file, post ledger and general journal entries, and balance accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
  • Uses office automated systems to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects and respond to inquiries.
  • Reconcile difficult accounts, prepare annual tax reports and W-2 statements, generate payroll and accounts payable payments, and produce special reports as needed.
  • Maintain a complete and systematic set of transactions in a specific phase of accounting.
  • Maintain all the accounts and project codes in General Ledger related to specific shared services councils.
  • Perform monthly Trial Balance reconciliations.
  • Assist in monthly and year-end closing of accounts.
  • Prepare schedules and gather required documentation for year-end and special audits for specified shared services council.
  • Maintain vendor accounts and resolve billing discrepancies with vendors.
  • Process vendor invoices and check requisitions and maintain the Accounts Payable Journal.
  • Perform duties within the established internal controls for check processing.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable Checks Register.
  • Process payment of payroll and benefits.
  • Process additions of seasonal employees (summer camps and program specialists) in the payroll system as needed.
  • Gather time sheets data from shared services council for hourly paid employees and input the hours worked into the system.
  • Check payroll data for accuracy and send the payroll file to shared services council for approval.
  • Process payments for garnishment employee payroll deductions (child support, alimony) and transmit the 403-B plan semimonthly payroll collections.
  • Prepare schedules for special allocations.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset details for the Shared Services Council, including journal entries and monthly depreciations.
  • Provide daily posting and reconciliations of Cash Receipts.
  • Provide leadership role in shared services council's POS system and Finance reports.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Other accounting duties as necessary.
