About The Position

Our Accounting Clerk is part of a small internal Accounting team for our well-established mid-size CPA firm. As part of our compliance program, all team members are required to follow industry leading data and system security practices.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting with 1 – 3 years of experience preferred
  • In-lieu of Associate’s Accounting Degree, non-accounting Associate’s degree plus 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred
  • In-lieu of Associate’s Degree, High School diploma with 5-7 plus years solid basic accounting experience required.
  • Working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and CCH Axcess preferred.
  • Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems

Responsibilities

  • Accounts payable, including daily processing/entry, processing disbursements to vendors, and responding to vendor inquiries.
  • Assist with yearly 1099’s.
  • Process employee expense reports and credit card expense reports.
  • Assist employees with expense report issues/questions.
  • Enter daily cash receipts in CCH Axcess and Costpoint.
  • Assist business units in collection of outstanding Accounts Receivable.
  • Other responsibilities/duties as assigned by Manager/Controller.
