About The Position

Victory Honda of Plymouth is part of Victory Automotive Group, a family-owned business since 1997 with over 40 locations nationwide. We are committed to providing excellent service to our customers and a professional, supportive workplace for our employees. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely accounting functions, including payroll and financial records, on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. This role involves working with our Dealer Management Systems and supporting various accounting processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in a business office or general accounting role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong computer and internet skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Effective data entry and time management skills
  • Professional and dependable work ethic

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
  • Dealership experience and familiarity with Reynolds and Reynolds software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an orderly accounting system and ensure accuracy of financial records
  • Receive, reconcile, and process vendor invoices
  • Prepare customer invoices and credit batches
  • Reconcile daily cash deposits and vendor statements
  • Prepare accounts payable checks and post open items daily
  • Manage petty cash system
  • Assist customers and banks with refunds and cancellations related to vehicle transactions
  • Comply with local, state, and federal tax reporting and filings
  • Maintain updated files for accounts receivable and payable
  • Ensure all accounting transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative support including answering phones, typing, filing, and data entry
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and educational classes as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
