About The Position

The Accounting Clerk supports the company’s daily accounting operations by ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, maintaining organized records, and assisting with accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role works closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller to support compliance, meet deadlines, and maintain the integrity of financial data. This position requires the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity from an individual who is responsible and dependable.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a corporate accounting environment (agency experience is a plus)
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial information with a high level of confidentiality
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic work environment

Responsibilities

  • Enter and code vendor and media invoices into QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and proper matching to purchase or insertion orders
  • Assign appropriate GL accounts and cost centers while maintaining organized digital invoice records
  • Prepare weekly payment batches for approval, process ACH/check payments, and track vendor due dates to ensure timely payment
  • Maintain vendor documentation including W-9s, 1099s, and support sales tax preparation and filings
  • Collect and review expense receipts through Expensify, verifying coding and flagging missing items or policy exceptions
  • Assist with monthly accruals, reconcile open payables, and support month-end close processes
  • Communicate with vendors to address inquiries and maintain positive relationships
  • Support the Controller with audit and tax documentation requests
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to ensure accounting deadlines and departmental needs are met
