About The Position

American Bank & Trust Company is looking for a full-time Accounting Clerk for the Opelousas area. The position is entry level and involves a wide range of duties including but not limited to balancing general ledger accounts, official checks, reconciling bank statements, processing accounts payable, ordering and receiving supplies, and making runs to branches and post office.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and banking laws
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient with computers especially working with EXCEL and WORD
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle and have a good driving record
  • Credit check is required

  • Banking experience is a plus
