About The Position

The Accounting Clerk plays a key role in maintaining accurate and timely financial records for our dealership. This position is responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll related functions, bank reconciliations, and general accounting duties within our Dealer Management System.

Requirements

Minimum of one year experience with general accounting responsibilities in a business office setting
Proficient computer and internet skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Good problem-solving and analytical abilities
Strong data entry and time management skills
Professional demeanor and dependability

Nice To Haves

Experience in a dealership environment is preferred
Reynolds and Reynolds software experience is a plus
Degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
Familiarity with business applications and accounting software is beneficial

Responsibilities

Maintain an organized and accurate accounting system
Receive, reconcile, and process vendor invoices
Prepare customer invoices and credit batches
Reconcile daily cash deposits
Prepare accounts payable checks and post open payable items daily
Ensure statement and ledger reconciliations are accurate and on schedule
Maintain petty cash records
Assist customers and banks with refunds and cancellations
Comply with local, state, and federal tax reporting requirements
Keep updated files for accounts receivable and payable
Ensure all accounting transactions comply with company policies
Provide administrative support including answering phones, filing, typing, data entry, and record keeping
Participate in staff meetings, training, and educational sessions
Perform additional duties as assigned
