About The Position

The Cache County Treasurer's Office is accepting applications for an Accounting Clerk II. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial reporting, the distribution of tax revenue, and seamless daily operations. This is a full-time benefited position, generally working Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All benefits start on the first day!

Requirements

Graduation from a high school or GED
Two (2) years of specialized training or course background in bookkeeping, accounting, mathematics, finance or some other related field
Four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience performing above or related duties
Strong computer skills and experience with Excel, Word, and database software
Able to operate 10-key by touch

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly balance sheets and perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations for bank, credit card, and petty cash accounts.
Assists in balancing, posting, and distribution of personal property taxes.
Track investment interest and compile year-end state reports.
Receive cash and check payments over the counter, by mail, and from county departments.
Post tax revenues, balance cash drawers, scan bank deposits, update ledgers, and follow up on returned checks.
Respond to inquiries via phone and in person regarding tax obligations, delinquencies, parcel information, and tax sales.
Assist banks, title companies, and mortgage service providers.
