Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. IPSD Large Engines seeks an Accounting Associate in Seguin, TX to support Supply Chain and Power Generation Operations. In this position, you will play a critical role supporting the Supply Chain and Power Generation teams for the Engines Assembly facility in Seguin, TX. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with or willingness to learn new tools such as Alteryx, Axiom, Power BI, Tableau, etc

Responsibilities

  • Financial analysis & monthly reporting of results for Supply Chain, Freight, and Power Generation (PG) Operations
  • Presentation and explanation of results to Supply Chain and PG Leadership
  • Provide budget scenarios as needed based on changing business conditions for Supply Chain/PG Operations
  • Quarterly forecast process (RBM)
  • Annual Business Plan (ABP)
  • Determine Internal Rate of Return and NPV for medium/high complexity capital projects
  • Support the Normals product cost process for Receiving rates on Engines produced in Texas
  • Use of business systems/tools including, but not limited to Axiom, Power BI and Tableau
