We're seeking an Accounting Associate to support our growing Finance team with a blend of day-to-day accounting operations and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter with strong analytical skills and experience in the government contracting industry who can manage both transactional tasks and meaningful financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting and finance principles, policies, and standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and SharePoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-finance stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Unanet (ERP/timekeeping system)
  • Experience in the federal or government contracting industry
  • Familiarity with project-based accounting or cost-plus contract structures

Responsibilities

  • Ensure invoices are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
  • Complete project setup and maintenance in the onboarding, accounting, and timekeeping system (Unanet), reflecting changes as projects evolve
  • Assist with contracts, modifications, and purchase orders
  • Support state tax registration processes
  • Coordinate and review travel and expense reports for compliance and accuracy
  • Respond to internal inquiries related to charge codes, timesheets, vacation, and holidays with timely and accurate information
  • Travel to HQ office (less than 5%) to collect and process mail
  • Monitor and communicate project financial status to internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
  • Support preparation of financial reports, summaries, and ad hoc analyses as requested
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in support of audits and compliance reviews
  • Ensure adherence to internal company procedures and applicable government regulations
  • Provide general administrative support to Finance team members
  • Handle sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion
  • Perform other duties as assigned
