About The Position

The Accounting Associate supports the daily accounting operations of the company by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with general ledger activities for multiple consolidated entities. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an entry-level accounting professional to gain experience in corporate accounting, reconciliations, audits, and financial administration.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Internship or prior office/accounting experience is a plus but not required.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the accounting field.

Responsibilities

  • Process, record, and reconcile employee corporate credit card transactions, including American Express and Visa accounts.
  • Ensure timely payment of corporate card balances and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
  • Assist employees with credit card questions and expense-related issues.
  • Process and reconcile vendor payments for recurring company expenses, including utilities and service providers.
  • Record and track rebates and other incoming funds.
  • Route incoming receivables and related documentation to the appropriate departments or individuals.
  • Assist with initiating and monitoring electronic payments and ACH transactions.
  • Assist with annual 1099 preparation and filing for multiple entities.
  • Support the processing and renewal of business licenses.
  • Record and process real estate tax and supplemental tax payments.
  • Assist with Sales & Use Tax filings and related audit support.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by gathering documentation and preparing schedules.
  • Maintain records related to water and sewer proffers.
  • Assist with fixed asset tracking, account reconciliations, and accrual entries.
  • Support account allocations and coding to ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Assist with recording land sales, takedowns, and other real estate-related transactions.
