About The Position

Support the group’s scope of responsibilities including regulatory reporting, SEC reporting, corporate accounting, and funding and treasury management related requirements for the Capital Market’s broker dealer business. Support the organization's daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and FINRA regulatory reporting (FOCUS filings). Assist with daily regulatory capital monitoring and treasury management functions for the broker dealer business. Support daily funding requirements for the broker dealer business and work closely with ALM funding to communicate funding requirements based on business activities. Create and evaluate reports on financial performance (e.g., monthly variance analysis, quarterly Board statements, daily funding reports) for internal use. Interact with various levels of the organization in determining content and summarizing data for management. Key stakeholders include Bank Accounting, LOB Finance, Risk, Operations, Compliance and Legal. Participate in the annual year-end audit with our external auditors – preparing and reviewing financial statements and footnotes for the Annual Audited Report in accordance with US GAAP. Provide additional support with ad hoc research to support business activities and accounting matters and various automation and process improvement projects. Work as a liaison with second line of defense groups in providing support over control analysis. Provides specialized accounting, financial and regulatory reporting, accounting research and control oversight for the company. Creates accounting memoranda and various specialized reports for internal and external use. Completes month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities including the preparation and review of journal entries and appropriate audit work papers, and the reconciliation of accounts for such activities. These activities may relate to bank accounting, loans and investments, deposits, tax, and subsidiary regulatory reporting. Supports and assists accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

  • Bachelors
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
  • This position is subject to the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (FDIA) and, for any registered role, the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act) and/or the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), which prohibit the hiring of individuals with certain criminal history.
