About The Position

Zurich Canada is seeking an Accounting Associate, Financial Accounting and Reporting to support the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial information while contributing to key accounting operations and reporting activities. This role involves supporting day-to-day accounting and financial reporting processes, assisting with general ledger activities, preparing reconciliations and journal entries, and contributing to the timely and accurate completion of financial reports. The associate will collaborate with internal stakeholders across finance and business functions to ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and reporting requirements. This position offers an opportunity to build foundational accounting and reporting expertise within a global insurance organization in a collaborative and supportive environment. Zurich Canada uses artificial intelligence-enabled tools to support certain aspects of the recruitment process, but all hiring decisions are made by qualified hiring professionals. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in-person presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and no prior experience required in the Accounting or Finance area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with financial reporting and general ledger maintenance
  • Review and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and resolve accounting-related inquiries
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing required documentation
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and financial reporting projects
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
  • Utilize financial systems and reporting tools to support accounting operations
  • Perform additional accounting and reporting responsibilities as assigned
