About The Position
The Financial Reporting Accounting Senior is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of external financial statements and all related filings. Provides assistance with complex financial statement transactions and filings.
Requirements
- Requires BA/BS in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 3 years of related accounting experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Nice To Haves
- Insurance accounting and/or SEC or other financial reporting experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepares filings using the general ledger system and specific financial statement preparation software and analyzes results.
- Assists with responses to government and/or regulatory agencies requests and inquiries.
- Provides information for external audits.
- Participates in the evaluation of anticipated transactions and assists with implementing needed changes to the financial statements and related disclosures, including the impact on risk-based capital.
- Recommends and develops enhancements to accounting methods and procedures.
