Currently seeking an organized and detail-oriented accounting assistant to assist in maintaining financial records. You will be exposed to basic accounting procedures and principles ranging from accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

Requirements

Degree in accounting and/or 2+ years of accounting experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Strict attention to detail, highly organized and efficient
Ability to collaborate in a team as well as excel independently
Must be able to grasp new concepts quickly and adapt to change
Eager to learn!

Responsibilities

Posting and reviewing daily deposits.
Balancing multiple checking accounts and monitoring cash positioning.
Reconciling and verifying bank accounts monthly, and addressing inquiries from banks.
Assisting in preparing monthly and quarterly financials as well as providing outside auditors with assistance gathering documents.
Posting and reviewing incoming bills for accuracy as well as processing payments for invoices associated with accounts payable and ensuring payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Monitoring and managing business credit card expenses.
Creating and monitoring departmental budgets.
Managing the check escheatment process.
