About The Position

Solar Gaines is a leading commercial solar installer serving Maryland, Washington, D.C., Delaware, and Virginia. As we continue to grow, we are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team in helping businesses transition to clean, renewable energy. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented accounting assistant to join our team. An associate degree in accounting, bookkeeping, or related fields is preferred. This role will have responsibilities assisting the accounting department.

Requirements

• Construction experience required
• Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment.
• Ability to take initiative and be flexible while meeting multiple demands within a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-developed computer skills including competence & proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in accounting, bookkeeping, or related fields is preferred.
• Experience with Foundations software is a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintaining financial records
• Reconcile accounts
• Invoicing and accounts receivable
• Accounts payable
• Expense tracking
• Assist with commercial insurance renewals.
• Interpret financial reports and provide insights to management
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes
