About The Position

This position will assist in the accounting close and reporting processes, including the completion of analysis. The role involves preparing journals, account reconciliations, and monthly reports, performing key accounting controls, and assisting in the monthly accounting close process by analyzing and adjusting accounting data. The position also coordinates, consolidates, reports, and prepares analysis of financial transactions to aid management in decision-making, calculates performance measures, and settles invoices to ensure accurate and timely payments. The role requires effective interfacing with other Vistra personnel to ensure consistent work practices and reporting deadlines are achieved, and the creation of ad-hoc and variance reporting, including data mining and analytics. Participation in special projects as requested is also part of the role.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with 3-6 years related work experience
• Knowledge of the functions of accounting organizations such as Accounts Payable, General Accounting, Payroll, Fixed Asset Accounting
• Must be able to utilize knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, company policies and other information as they apply to the energy industry to provide relevant and reliable reports and information for management inside and outside the accounting organization
• Intermediate Excel skills and solid functional knowledge of Word and Power Point applications
