About The Position

Overall responsibility for performing the duties required in the Accounts Payable system for the processing of weekly, monthly invoices and check requests. The Accounting Assistant organizes and performs accounts payable activities, which include coding and payment of all accounts payable invoices, check requests, and travel requests. This role communicates appropriately with vendors, managers, and employees, and processes weekly and monthly invoices and check requests. The position also involves opening, stamping, sorting, and distributing mail. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year in the bookkeeping field or accounting office.
  • One year experience in accounts payable.
  • Basic computer skill
  • Basic mathematical skill
  • Ability to define and solve problems individually.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred.
