Job Summary Under immediate supervision, performs routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements, and financial reports and accounts payable or receivable functions.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Because the Company has designated this as a cash-sensitive position, in addition to a criminal background check, a credit check is also required before any individual starts in this position. Employees in this position will also need to complete the background check process on an annual basis. All such checks referenced in the foregoing shall be completed in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other applicable laws.
  • Possess and have ability to apply basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Good organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)

Responsibilities

  • Compile, sort, and review documents, such as invoices, checks and receipts, to substantiate business transactions.
  • Verify and post details of business transactions, such as expenses, funds received and disbursed, and total accounts to general ledger, computer spreadsheets, and/or databases.
  • Prepare items such as deposits, vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports and other records, and review for accuracy.
  • Extract general ledger information for use in analysis and reports.
  • Assist in the research and response to both internal and external customers regarding inquiries, and assist in resolving issues and discrepancies.
  • Provide ad hoc information as requested to support current work and special projects.
  • Perform other general clerical duties such as copying, filing, collating, typing, answering phones, processing correspondence, and operating departmental office equipment as required.
