About The Position

First Merchants Bank is seeking an Accounting Associate I to join our team! This position will perform accounting functions, research and process various transactions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare reconciliations for loan and deposit system accounts, Federal Reserve Bank, correspondent accounts, and various other accounts as assigned. Identify and research out of balance transactions and resolve. Prepare reconciliation dashboard reporting to Operations and other departments. Assist the Accounting team as needed with daily, weekly or monthly duties. Provide support to management on assigned projects. Verify daily Bank Control Record (BCR) reports to supporting documents to make sure all system changes were authorized and correctly changed in the system. Submit 945 taxes semi-weekly. To be successful in this position, we require the following: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). A minimum of three (3) years of accounting, bookkeeping or related experience. The following would be a plus: Prior banking experience. Associate's degree in accounting, finance or related field. Requirements
