About The Position

This is an off-campus Federal Work Study (FWS) position for currently enrolled students, providing administrative support within the organization's business operations. The role involves assisting with monthly agency reporting, financial data entry, reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements and reports. The position is located at Puerto Rican Arts Alliance, 3000 N. Elbridge, Chicago, IL 60618.

Requirements

• Must be an enrolled student.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a current student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester.
• FWS fund eligible.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-directed, motivated individuals.
• Strong computer skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong organizational skills for assisting in preparation and updating of important accounting files and other agency materials.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Quick Books or any other accounting software will be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly agency reporting.
• Review and enter cash receipts and accounts payable data.
• Review accounts payable for accuracy and prepare checks for payments.
• Assist with general ledger data input.
• Perform bank and other account reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
• Prepare fiscal reports for funders and for auditing purposes.
• Assist with the annual audit of the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
