About The Position

The Accounting Assistant / Accounts payable duties focus on computer input of vendor bills and processing payments on a weekly basis under the direction of the department head. May also include a range of support activities inside our accounting department. An important part of the role is to assist the rest of the department as a liaison between accounting and various departments, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions. May assist in creating policies, processes, and documents. SFC will provide specific on-the-job training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • 2 years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software applications.
  • Ability to enter data into and run reports from databases.
  • Able to be organized and function well in high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to follow written and or directions.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and to work independently.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in highly fluid and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audience.
  • Ability to work with a team and interact with others in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of Stock Farm Club and member and guest information.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and image of the Stock Farm Club.
  • Must be able to successfully pass employment background checks.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license in accordance with the laws of the State of Montana; must be insurable under the company’s auto insurance policy.
  • Ability to work at least 32 hours per week up to 40 hours per week with occasional overtime as needed/approved by supervisor.

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate level skill in MS Excel (formulas, charting)
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Prior satisfactory performance as a team member of the Stock Farm Club.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with day-to-day operations for the department, according to assigned schedule.
  • Assists with accounts payable/receivable, invoices, filing, and similar duties.
  • Assists with compiling and updating vendor charge account records.
  • Communicate with Members as needed regarding financial matters with diligence and professional communications.
  • Assists with compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
  • Updates assets tracking software and spreadsheets.
  • May assist with payroll preparation.
  • May assist with annual 1099 reporting and filing.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
