About The Position

Kearney & Company is seeking an Accounting and Financial Reporting Senior Manager to join their team supporting one of the Federal government’s largest agencies. This role involves supporting the Department of the Navy (DON) audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies. The position requires managing sub-task/project plans, prioritizing activities, meeting deadlines, and working closely with the client and Kearney team to provide value-added services and drive improvements. The Senior Manager will serve as the primary client-facing point of contact, demonstrating excellent writing and communication skills for drafting/updating Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, and whitepapers. Strong customer service skills and the ability to work under pressure with short deadlines are essential. The role includes directing and reviewing the work of Consultants and Senior Associates, and communicating project status to the Team Lead and client.

Requirements

  • BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university
  • Nine (9) years of progressive, relevant experience, including six (6) years of experience leading financial management or business systems modernization/sustainment and related projects.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Interim Secret (or higher, such as Top Secret or TS/SCI) security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Department of the Navy (DON) audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies.
  • Managing sub-task/project plan: prioritize activities, meet established deadlines, work closely with the client and Kearney team, seek out and provide value-added services
  • Driving improvements to achieve engagement goals
  • Working closely with the client and Kearney team and serve as the primary client-facing point of contact for Kearney
  • Demonstrating excellent writing and communication skills as significant time is spent drafting/updating communication artifacts (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, whitepapers).
  • Demonstrating strong customer service skills and the ability to work in occasional high-pressure situations with short deadlines.
  • Directing and reviewing the work of Consultants and Senior Associates.
  • Communicating status of project-related tasks to Team Lead and client.
