About The Position

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for an Accounting and Finance Analyst in our Global Operations & Innovation Center in Wheeling, WV. As an Accounting and Finance Analyst you will prepare, analyze, and compile the accounting and membership data for the Investment Companies (20+) including annual financial statements and assistance with the preparation of K-1s. Additional responsibilities include determination of member distribution, maintaining the third-party platform, preparing forms, payment requests, journal entries, spreadsheets and special projects as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of work experience and/or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
Excellent verbal and written and communication skills
Proficiency in Excel, Word and other Microsoft applications
Strong analytical skills

Responsibilities

Setting up and maintaining the accounting records for the Investment Companies
Coordinate initial payments for investment and capital calls
Monthly reconciliations
Administration of the third-party platform for Investment Companies
Annual financial statement reporting
Working with outside accountants to prepare annual financial statements and tax returns
Coordinating and compiling underlying tax information from the investments for each Investment Company
Ensuring proper tax payments are made for Investment Companies
Maintaining database for address and contact information for Investment Company members
Calculating distributions to Investment Company members
Ensuring distributions are properly paid
Manage relationship with brokerage firm on cash and share deposits and distributions
Answering questions from Investment Company members
Reconciling and following up on distribution checks that have not been made
