About The Position

Financial & Regulatory Reporting is seeking a driven professional to join our team! As an Accounting Analyst in Financial Operations, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape and support decision-making throughout the enterprise through insightful financial analysis and reporting. You'll serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to executive leadership, collaborating with various teams across State Farm to drive key enterprise priorities. Your work will help advance State Farm's mission, allowing us to better serve our customers in new and impactful ways.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
Understanding of core accounting principles and financial statements
Broad business and financial acumen
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work with all levels of leadership
Learning agility and adaptability to work across multiple teams
A high degree of internal motivation, initiative, and curiosity
Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
Ability to lead and/or represent Financial Operations on projects and initiatives
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including utilization of advanced formulas and report automation technique

Nice To Haves

CPA designation preferred
Insurance and/or financial services experience preferred

Responsibilities

Preparing and supporting monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports for Property & Casualty, Life, Investment Management/Brokerage and other affiliates.
Researching accounting guidance and appropriately applying to our financial reporting.
Maintaining proper operation of internal controls.
Delivering timely financial analysis and explaining complex topics clearly to help the audience make informed decisions.
Collaborating across Financial Operations and the Enterprise to develop ad hoc and routine analysis to enable informed decision-making. This includes analysis of results, proactive identification of trends, and impact analysis on changes affecting trends.
Serving as a strategic thought partner for leadership and business areas and offering insights on Enterprise financial and growth results.
Representing Financial Operations on projects and initiatives across the Enterprise.
