About The Position

The Accounting Analyst actively contributes to the preparation of financial statements, the production of financial analyses, and the maintenance of internal controls. This role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability of financial information and supporting decision-making. The position also includes operational responsibilities related to bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, accrual accounting, as well as the management and analysis of volume rebates in SAP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA designation (or in progress)
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience
  • Experience in manufacturing, transformation, or distribution environments
  • Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot, etc.)
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP S/4HANA
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • High level of rigor and accuracy
  • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to act as a business partner
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bilingualism required: Proficiency in English is necessary due to frequent interactions with predominantly English-speaking pan-Canadian partners.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation of financial statements (standalone, aggregated, and consolidated) and ensure their accuracy
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare financial data related to the general ledger
  • Analyze budget variances and explain fluctuations
  • Prepare reports and analyses for management
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses
  • Maintain and monitor balance sheet schedules under their responsibility
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate variances
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions
  • Prepare and record period-end accrual entries
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
  • Plan and execute certain internal control procedures
  • Participate in the preparation of annual external audits
