About The Position

COUNTRY Financial offers a competitive and enriching internship program where interns become part of the COUNTRY family. Interns are assigned meaningful work, partnered with a mentor, attend speaker sessions, learn about future career opportunities, participate in a case study competition, network within the organization, and volunteer in the community. This opportunity provides exposure to three distinct areas: Income Tax (periodical accruals for state and federal income tax, assisting with tax return preparation and review), Internal Audit (providing independent assurance and consulting services, working with internal teams and external auditors), and Financial Reporting (creation of internal and external financial statements and regulatory filings, including analysis for accuracy).

Requirements

Pursuing a degree in Accounting.
Must be able to work full-time hours from late May 2027 to early August 2027.
The internship will be extended part-time through fall 2027 and spring 2028.
Graduation date of May 2028 or beyond.
Strong customer service, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
Ability to be productive with a high degree of accuracy/attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be organized, self-motivated, and proactive.
Exercises analytical and critical thinking skills.
Responds well under pressure.
Demonstrates intellectual curiosity.
High familiarity with Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

Ideally on a track for CPA designation.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and review of state and federal income tax returns.
Provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services for the company's operations.
Work with internal teams and external auditors.
Create internal and external financial statements and regulatory filings.
Complete thorough analysis over financial statements to ensure appropriateness and material accuracy.
