About The Position

Compeer Financial is seeking an Intern Accounting to provide financial accounting services to internal and external clients. This role will primarily focus on the patronage dividend process, including internal, regulatory, and external reporting. The internship offers a flexible, hybrid work environment and is located in the Mankato, MN office. This is a paid internship, but the intern is responsible for housing and transportation. Business-related transportation and expenses will be covered by the organization. The intern will work full-time during the summer of 2027 and part-time during the following school year until graduation.

Requirements

  • Working towards completing an Accounting or Finance degree.
  • 1-2 years of experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers and software applications such as Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Solid organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills and time management required.
  • Must also be detail oriented, accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial accounting services to internal and external clients.
  • Focus on Compeer’s patronage dividend process.
  • Provide internal, regulatory, and external reporting services.
  • Work with estates, transfers, retirements, outstanding checks, patronage agreements, unclaimed property, and general ledger balancing.
  • Provide high-quality service to internal and external clients by answering questions and resolving issues related to Compeer’s patronage program in a timely manner.
