About The Position

Pure Hockey is a privately owned specialty sporting goods company with more than 100 hockey retail stores and two e-commerce businesses. As a growing organization, we are looking for a Part-Time Accounting Assistant to join our experienced accounting team and contribute to the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

Requirements

Previous experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a related field preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies.
Strong communication and follow-through.
Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with accounting software is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable and professional with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Process invoices and obtain appropriate approvals for payment.
Match checks to invoices and supporting documentation.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date check register.
Record check mailing dates and maintain payment records.
Reconcile vendor statements and research payment discrepancies.
Assist with bank reconciliations.
Research and resolve payment discrepancies and other accounting issues.
Prepare and mail checks.
Track weekly accounting documents and ensure records are complete and organized.
Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
Order deposit slips, bank bags, and other banking supplies.
Maintain organized accounting files and financial records.
Assist with accounts payable functions.
Perform general accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
