About The Position

This senior-level accounting position is remote for MediGold and supports the Fresno Central Valley Health Plan. The position works Pacific Time Zone hours. In accordance with the organization's Mission, Core Values, and Vision, the role develops and maintains accurate financial information for assigned areas of the general ledger and financial statements. This information supports fiscal planning and reporting, achievement of organizational strategic goals and objectives, and current reporting of Medical Center performance. The Accountant prepares monthly journal entries, assists with monthly financial statements and reporting, reconciles and analyzes general ledger accounts, and may assist with annual budget work for the Medical Center and Medical Foundation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a concentration in accounting.
At least four years of accounting experience.
Knowledge of computer accounting systems and spreadsheets.
Ability to communicate financial information in writing and orally.
Ability to perform duties and complete projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Prepare complete and accurate monthly journal entries for the Medical Center and Medical Foundation by the closing date.
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, statistics, and the financial statement narrative by reporting deadlines for the Board of Trustees and Corporate office.
Reconcile, analyze, and adjust general ledger accounts as needed, maintaining accurate supporting detail for account balances.
As assigned, assist with annual budget areas, including the capital budget, portions of the Medical Center's and Medical Foundation's operating budgets, budget analysis, and the budget package.
