About The Position
Nucor Fastener is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accountant to support the division’s financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting processes. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.
- Candidates must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP
- Advanced Excel skills
- Desire to pursue CPA and/or MBA
- 1-2 years Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
- Assisting with month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing, reviewing, and submitting financial reporting to divisions and Corporate
- Maintaining and continuously improving internal control processes
- Supporting the accounting team with accounts payable processes, including check runs and vendor coordination
- Assisting with a variety of ad hoc accounting tasks and projects throughout the month to support the needs of the division
